Mafrica is a family-run company which specialises in the slaughter of pork, lamb and veal as well as the cutting and production of pork based products. The company started out in 1963 in Sant Joan de Villatorrada in Bages, a county within the province of Barcelona. It began as a slaughterhouse for pork and lamb and with an initial staff of 50. Over 350 people now work in the company which covers a surface area of 40,000 m2. It is among the top Spanish companies in this sector thanks to constant innovation, sustained growth and rigorous standards and guarantees in quality and safety. The company’s philosophy is quality. For this reason, it is equipped with a modern laboratory where the company’s products are controlled. Rigorous health and hygiene checks are carried out on all processes in order to guarantee that the end product reaches the consumer in perfect conditions. Innovation and research have always been present at Mafrica, thanks to the close relations it maintains with technological research centres and outstanding engineering entities in the sector. Ongoing research allows the company to improve both its products and its processes.
